British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
